UKIPT – UK and Ireland Poker Tour

The UKIPT (UK and Ireland Poker Tour) is the hottest new thing on the UK poker scene. There are 8 UKIPT tournaments scheduled for the first season of the tour and the tour, which is exclusively sponsored by Pokerstars.com, is building momentum with every stop it makes. As Pokerstars are the exclusive sponsor of the UK and Ireland Poker Tour they have the full rights to coverage of the events as well as online satellites meaning the online place you can qualify to play in a UKIPT event is at the Pokerstars online poker room.

Visit Pokerstars.com, the only place to qualify for UKIPT events online!

Below you can find a list of all the UKIPT events on this years calendar and if you click on one of the links it will tell you how to qualify online for the event you clicked. The UKIPT satellites that Pokerstars are running usually start up about a month before the actual live tournament and at the lowest levels have about a $3 buy in. They usually run at least a few freeroll satellites for UK players as well, check out Pokerstars.com for more information on them.

List of UKPIT Events and Satellites:

UKIPT Galway Satellites

UKIPT Manchester Satellites

UKIPT Coventry Satellites

UKIPT Nottingham Satellites

UKIPT Killarney Satellites

UKIPT Brighton Satellites

UKIPT Dublin Satellites

EPT London Satellites (UKIPT Main Event)

Note: You might be wondering why an EPP (European Poker Tour) event is listed on the UK and Ireland Tour. This is because Pokerstars have decided to combine EPT London making it into the grand final of the UKIPT as well as an EPT event. If you manage to ship one of the UKIPT tournaments then you win an EPT London seat for free as well as the prize pool on offer.

The buy ins are different for most events with the cheapest being £500 + £50 and the most expensive (the Grand Final EPT London) being £5,000 + £300. All the tournaments have a player cap on them. The smallest scheduled event is the Brighton leg which is capped at 250 players. The rest of the tournaments range from between 300 and 1000 player caps.

The events are selling out like hot cakes at the moment so if you do intend to play you really do need to get over to Pokerstars.com quickly and win your seat.

The UKIPT has been tipped by many to become the UK’s premier poker tour. Everything Pokerstars get involved with in the Poker world seems to turn to gold pretty quickly so don’t be surprised to see the new UK and Ireland Poker Tour take off big style. The tour itself holds much promise and will no doubt be unearthing some new British young poker talent as well as providing another much needed, well structured and well ran UK poker tour. The UKIPT really is proving UK players the chance to shine and take down that big tournament score that’s needed to kick start their career. Our advice is to get yourself to as many events as possible, get some quality live poker experience, qualify cheaply at Pokerstars.com and make a name for yourself on the UK poker scene.
